HISTORY

Philadelphia Mobile Home Court is family-owned and operated. It was established in 1971 by Mr. & Mrs. Broadway. They, with the help of their son, Ken Broadway oversee the park. The park is located just inside the city limits.

The home court isn't named after the big city in Pennsylvania. It is actually named for the fact that the park sits in the middle of the old settled community of Philadelphia. This community had its own school district, a baptist church, fire department, and cemetery. It has since been modernized and annexed into the city of Jonesboro. The annexation took place in 1989. With that came a peaceful country environment while receiving city utilities and benefits.

The park did not originally start out as "Philadelphia Mobile Home Court." Prior to the establishment of the home court by the Broadways, it went by the name Young's Trailer Park. In 1971, Mr. Young asked his nearby neighbor, John Broadway, if he would like to buy the park and land from him.

When the Broadway's bought the park, they moved into the house located on the premises with their two young teenagers, Mark & Ken, and started renovating. Their children immediately took on the role of grounds keeper. They started by picking up the tenants trash because there was no trash service back then. They would also mow around the park. John & Lanelle have several hilarious stories they could tell about their sons early work.

The Broadway's have raised children & grandchildren at the mobile home court, where they taught them all the importance of a good work ethic and Godly-moral values. They are a hard-working family that strive to provide their tenants with friendly & excellent service. Family is the most important thing to John & Lanelle and you will more than likely always see a family member at the park.
